lyrics
It’s a been a few miles since my face got to see the sun
Walls closing in on me like a loaded gun
Dreaming of a place where I can let go of time
Somewhere I can rest my mind
I’ve been dreaming of the wild, wild plains
Walking where the pine trees dance
Where the river runs deep and the birds all sing in the great expanse
Howling at the moonlight sleeping underneath the stars
Wondering why I let myself ever get this far from the heartland
I wanna watch the going down and the rising up
Stretching my arms out laughing with the ones I love
Hoping for a slow down trying to beat the middle class rush
Somehow we never get enough
Laying in the wildflowers
Watching clouds go by
Say a little prayer for the problems I left behind

it's such a beautiful album of grieving and loss and acceptance. it speaks to a particular kind of grief -- not a grieving of one who is lost, but the grieving for one who is still present and still causing pain. i love the last song most because while it could end in pain, or end with the narrators decision to permanently push this person out of their life and that would be justified, it doesn't. instead, it offers something. what is offered? acceptance. hope. and a chance for redemption janmisha
