lyrics
Praying for an easy morning
Can’t hide the sad from my face
But I try it to keep a smile on it
I’m soon to be leaving this place
I can see you slowly sinking
Out on island alone
I can feel the walls creeping
Tears fall like rain on the floor
I wish I knew just what to say when I’m leaving
I wish I could turn back the time
My heart and head screaming out don’t you say it
There’s no easy words for goodbye
I know I can’t be where you need me tonight
I see your heart breaking now and I wish it was mine.
It’s hard to see a happy ending
My world seems like it’s broke in two
Wagon with the wheels missing
It just ain’t the same without you
We don’t get to let this go
There’s too much life that we both know
So lay it down and tuck it in
‘Cause someday soon we’ll dance again

it's such a beautiful album of grieving and loss and acceptance. it speaks to a particular kind of grief -- not a grieving of one who is lost, but the grieving for one who is still present and still causing pain. i love the last song most because while it could end in pain, or end with the narrators decision to permanently push this person out of their life and that would be justified, it doesn't. instead, it offers something. what is offered? acceptance. hope. and a chance for redemption janmisha
